LAHORE - Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of former Supreme Court Bar Association president and human rights champion Asma Jahangir.
In a condolence message, the minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude. He paid rich tributes to the social services of Asma and said her services for judiciary and humanity cannot be forgotten.
Also, National Highways and Motorways Police Inspector General Syed Kaleem Imam expressed a deep sense of grief over Asma’s death. He said the vacuum created by Asma’s death could not be filled and that she always worked for supremacy of the law.
