QUETTA - A 24-inch diameter gas pipeline was blown up in Dera Bugti district on Sunday. According to sources, unknown local tribesmen had planted an explosive device under the foundation of a 24-inch diameter gas pipeline in Peer Koh area. The explosive device went off with a big bang badly damaging gas pipeline and suspending gas supply to Sui purification plant. "Supply of gas to Sui purification plant from Peer Koh has been suspended, however, repair work of the damaged pipeline has been started ", said officials of PPL. Police have registered a case against unknown miscreants and started investigation. Meanwhile, at least three people including a child were injured when an explosion occurred at a bakery shop on Jail Road here on Sunday. According to reports, unknown people hurled an explosive device at the bakery shop which exploded with a big bang causing injuries to three persons including a child and smashing windowpanes of bakery shop. The injured were rushed to Quetta Civil Hospital. The injured were identified as Muhammad Irshad, Abdul Khaliq and 8-year-old Ali Shah. Hospital sources said that condition of injured was out of danger. Soon after the blast police and Bomb Disposal Squad reached the blast site.
