LAHORE - Professor Ahmed Bilal of the Punjab University's Fine Arts Department has made a unique record by making a zero budget movie. According to Professor Ahmed Bilal, movie titled "Beneath the sea" is written by Amjad Islam Amjad.

 Originally story is written by Egyptian writer Taufeequl Hakeem which has been dramatised in Urdu by Amjad Islam Amjad and then been translated in English, he explained. Professor Ahmed Bilal informed that the cast of the movie included Lee Sunder, Katy Roberts Wan, Debby and Ahemd Bilal. He described that he has shot the movie from his three mobile cameras and this movie is being released on social media. Ahmed Bilal said awareness is needed to propagate the importance of medium used by him if the country wants promotion of the movies.

Amjad Islam Amjad and others have taken part in the movie voluntarily and Ahmed Bilal thanked all of them for this.

GCU produces three PhDs

The Government College University Lahore has produced three doctors in philosophy (PhDs) in the fields of Chemistry, Physics and Urdu. The GCU Examination Department has issued notifications after approval of theses of Shahzad Sharif, Zeba Israr and Sarah Khalid Butt.

Shahzad Sharif completed his research on the topic of “Synthesis and Structural Characterization of Some Lanthanide Complexes Derived from Multidentate Oxygen Donor Ligands” under the supervision of GCU Dean of Sciences Prof Dr Islam Ullah Khan. Zeba Israr completed her research on the topic of “Screening Potentials and Wave Excitations in Dusty Plasmas” under the supervision of Prof Dr Hassan A Shah while Sarah Khalid Butt was notified as doctor of philosophy after the approval her thesis “Shaukat Sadique kay Afsana aur Novel ka Aslubiyati Mutalya” as Dr Muhammad Khan Ashraf supervised her thesis.
