A suspected outlaw was killed in crossfire with police at Haky Super Bund in Dira Din Pannah area of tehsil Kot Addu, 80 km from here early Monday morning.

According to DPO Awais Ahmed Malik, five dacoits were on the way to Haky Supper Bund from Kot Addu on two motorcycles. Acting on a tip-off, the Dira Din Pannah Police rushed to haky Bund situated some 15 km from the police station. As the police attempted to stop the motorcycles, dacoits opened indiscriminate firing which the police retaliated. The crossfire continued for an hours. However, as firing subsided from the other, the police found one of the dacoits dead body who was later identified as Umar Khush alias Wassa. The DPO claimed that the dacoit was killed by his accomplices who managed to flee the scene.

The DPO informed that deceased Wassa had been involved in a bank dacoity and killing of a bank security guard. The police recovered a Kalashnikov, four hand Grenades. The body was shifted to THQ Hospital Kot Addu for medico-legal formalities. The Dira Police have registered a case against the culprits and start investigation.
