A teenage girl was allegedly raped in Qadi Wand Road locality of the city on Monday.

Muhammad Saleem, father of the ill-fated teenager, a resident of Qadi Wand Road, told the police that Arsalan and his sister Sonia lured away his daughter to nearby fields.

He alleged that Arsalan raped his daughter in the crop fields and fled away, leaving his daughter in critical condition.

The Kasur Saddr Police have registered a case on the complaint of Saleem.

SPARE PARTS SHOP GUTTED: A fire erupted in a spare parts shop gutted valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in Syedpur area of Kasur here on Monday.

Naik Muhammad, owner of the shop told the media that the fire erupted due to short-circuit which engulfed the entire shop all of sudden. He blamed that the fire-brigade failed to reach the shop on time due to which the fire caused a huge loss.

ONE KILLED IN ACCIDENT: A person was killed and six others injured when a speeding tractor-trolley got out of control and ran over passersby near Adda Dang here on Monday.

The incident occurred when Haider Ali, Yaqoob Ali, Akbar Ali and others were sitting on a footpath. All of sudden the tractor-trolley veered off and ran over footpath.

As a result seven persons were critically injured. They were rushed to nearby hospital where one of them breathed his last. Later, the deceased was identified as Mehar Shah Muhammad.

The tractor driver escaped the scene after the incident. The police have registered a case against the driver.

Murder convict being hanged today

District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Yar Wallana issued black warrants for a murder convict who will be hanged in district jail here on Tuesday (today).

The Jail officials arranged last meeting of convict Sardar Ali with his family and heirs.

According to prosecution, convict Sardar Ali had shot dead his opponent Amanullah following a dispute at a polling station in Chak 358/GB Mughli, Rajana during elections of 1993.

The District and Sessions had handed down death sentence to Sardar in 1996. His appeals in the apex courts and later to the President of Pakistan were rejected.
