Cotton factory gutted

KARACHI - A cotton factory on Thursday turned into ashes in Nazimabad locality.

According to the details, fire erupted in a cotton factory located at No, 4, Nazimbad. As being informed fire tenders rushed on the spot and trying to extinguished the fire but further fire tenders were also called following the high intensity of the fire.

As many as seven fire tenders were participated in the rescue operation and managed to control the fire after some three hours hectic efforts. Witnesses said that the factory was located in narrow streets which resulting fire fighters facing difficulties during rescue operations. Adding that water supply to the fire tenders has also been very much slow which resulting operation took too much time.

Spokesperson for fire brigade department while talking to the newsmen said that initially three fire tenders were dispatched to control the fire but due to high intensity of the fire four more fire tenders were reached on the spot and complete the extinguish operation in some four hours. He said that cause of the fire yet to be ascertained but apparently short circuit was the reason behind the fire. He confirmed that millions of rupees goods were gutted in the fire while immediate response managed to prevent the fire would be engulf nearby factories.
