KARACHI - A bandit was killed two others handed over to the police after residents of the areas managed to catch the robbers in two separate localities here on Thursday.

According to the details, residents of Gulbahar caught two bandits trying to flee after snatching mobile phones from Nazimabad locality while killing one wounded his comrade before police reached the spot to rescue the bandits. Police said that both armed bandits ridding on a motorbike snatched mobile phones and trying to flee when residents of the Nazimabad running after the bandits and managed to catch them at No 2, Naizmabad. Enraged mob beaten the bandits while police rushed the spot and shifted both wounded bandits to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced the death of a bandit while admitted his comrade with critical injures. Both the bandits yet to be identified as the wounded bandit still unconscious. Police recovered TT Pistols and looted valuables from his possession. 

Another similar incident took place in Gulshan-e-Iqbal police remits where armed bandits were trying to rob pedestrians in Gulshan-e-Iqbal locality when residents of the area running after the bandit and caught one of them. Bandits open fire and trying to flee while enraged residents were managed to catch a bandit while his accomplice managed to flee. Citizen beaten the bandit and finally handed over to the police where bandit identified as Ubaid. Police recovered a TT pistol from his possession.  On the other side, Karachi police claimed to have arrested over 15 suspects in various raids and operations carried out in different parts of the city while recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession.

Police carried out the raids in the localities including Zaman Town, Aziz Bhatti, New Karachi Industrial Area, Gulberg, Madina Colony and Mominabad police stations. Police said that the accused persons arrested were including street criminals, bandits, drug paddlers and involved in other criminal activities while police recovered weapons and narcotics from the possession of arrested accused persons.
