ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have submitted separate adjournment motions at the National Assembly Secretariat, seeking a debate on the shocking and horrific incident of rape and cold-blooded murder of minor girl Zainab in today’s (Friday) session.
“The tragic incident has once raised serious apprehensions about the safety of children in the society, so a concrete strategy be devised to avoid such brutal incidents in the future,” said one of the adjournment motions. “It is unfortunate that a number of similar incidents had taken place in the area (Kasur) over the year but the enforcement agencies have yet to trace the culprits and brought them to justice,” the PPP adjournment motion said demanding a debate on the incident on the floor of the Lower House.
On behalf of the PTI, MNA Murad Saeed has submitted the adjournment motion demanding a debate on the issue by suspending the rest of the agenda. The cabinet meeting on Wednesday offered Fateha for the victim. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has ordered a probe of the incident. Meanwhile, the post-mortem report of the child confirmed that she was raped before she was murdered.
