KARACHI - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi chapter on Thursday held a protest demonstration outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) against the murder of a little girl Zainab in Punjab’s district Kasur and demanded the government to arrest the killer in 48 hours. The protesters were carrying party flags, banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Punjab government. The participants on the occasion condemned the brutal rape-murder of Zainab and termed the incident a big question mark on creditability of rulers.

PTI leaders including Karachi President Fridous Shamim Naqvi, Ilyas Sheikh, Mansor Sheikh, Subhan Ali Sahil, Dawa Khan Sabir and others were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the participants PTI Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that the culprits should be brought to justice without loss of further time involved in the killing of the innocent girl.

He said instead of dispensing justice to the parents of Zainab, the Punjab police in Kasur resorted to direct firing on the agitating people. He demanded stern action against the policemen who fired direct shots which killed at least two persons and injured several others. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif should value the people and take immediate action instead of making talk claims. He demanded the Punjab government to arrest the murders in next forty eight hours.

Meanwhile, Aafia Movement Pakistan leader, Dr Fowzia Siddiqui in a statement has said that the brutal rape-murder of innocent child, Zainab, has put a big question mark on performance of rulers and justice system of Pakistan.

She condemned the inhuman act in strongest words and said that the head of our nation should hang in shame over their incompetent rulers and justice system. She said the stereotype statements of the government and sacking a few officials are not sufficient but tantamount to rub salt into the wounds of the bereaved family.

She appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Nisar Saqib to take suo moto notice of kidnapping, molesting, trafficking, torture and murder of children in Pakistan and constitute a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to review performance of the government, administration and police during last 10 years and tell the nation that how many culprits of these cases are arrested and punished for their inhuman crimes.
