CDA officials directed to formulate policy

ISLAMABAD - Chairman Capital Development Authority Imtiaz Inayat Elahi Saturday said that CDA would extend and improve the Saidpur Model Village in its available resources for the attraction of foreign tourists. During his visit to Saidpur Model Village Imtiaz Inayat said that the natural stream flowing through the Model Village of Saidpur shall be cleaned and steps would be taken to save it from pollution. He directed the concerned authorities to formulate proper policy for allotment of shops and other outlets in a transparent manner. Chairman CDA said, Model Village Saidpur is situated at the foot Margallah hills, which make it unique and further measures would be taken for its beautification, preservation and development. He directed to arrange a meeting with the representatives of residents of Saidpur Model Village to resolve the issues of encroachment, acquisition of land and compensation of the residents. Earlier, Project Director of Saidpur Model Village briefed the Chairman CDA about the pace of development work. He informed the Chairman CDA that Saidpur Model Village has been developed as per its traditional layout keeping in mind the cultural heritage of the area in cooperation with the locals. He informed that work on construction of car parking, installation of tube-well and water filtration plant at Saidpur Model Village is also underway. Different firms and companies have established their stalls of edible and traditional crafts to facilitate the tourists. Chairman CDA also visited and inspected photo gallery and expressed his deep interest in the pictures taken at different phases of the development of the federal capital. He directed the concerned department to extend the area of photo gallery. On this occasion Member Environment, Member Administration and other officers of the CDA were also present.
