JHANG – At least eight people, including two women, were killed and four others sustained serious injuries in different incidents of violence and mishaps in Jhang here the other day.
In the first incident, a 15-year-old girl and her lover were killed for honour. Aneela, daughter of Riaz Thahim, a resident of Chak No-251, had developed illicit relation with 22-year-old Shahid Abbas, a resident of Chak No-256, within the remit of the Mochiwal Police Station. The other night, Shahid Abbas came to Aneela’s residence to meet her. Having caught them together, Aneela’s uncle, namely Ameer, his son Shabbir and Muhammad Fiaz, axed them both and later opened fire on them, causing their instant death. The Mochiwala police have registered a case
Separately, a woman was electrocuted in Garh Mahraja area. Identified as Nazira, the deceased was washing clothes when she got an electric shock and died.  Similarly, a 60-year-old man, namely Sarwar, and his 18-year-old son, Saqlain, residents of Chak No-245, were killed over an old enmity.
They were heading towards Mochiwal area on a motorcycle, when one Asif along with his armed accomplices targeted them near Madhani Jutt bus terminal on Faisalabad Road.
Sarwar died on the spot, while Saqlain sustained serious injuries and was ferried to the Mochiwala RHC, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Mochiwala police have registered a case.
Separately, a man was killed over a land dispute within the precincts of the Kot Shaker Police Station. Identified as Shahamed, a resident of Mauza Katal Sheroana, the victim was attacked by one Karam Khan and his six unidentified accomplices with axes. Leaving him in critically wounded, the attackers fled the scene, however.
Shahamed was ferried to the Allied Hospital, where he breathed his last. The police have registered a case
In another incident, one Ghulam Abbas, a resident of Basti Mehrban, of Haveli Bahadr Shah was gunned down over a petty dispute.
Mujahid, a proclaimed offender, had stolen a sheep of Ghulam Abbass a few days back. On inquiring about the theft, Mujahid became furious and opened fire on Ghulam Abbas, killing him instantly.
The Warryam Wala police have registered a case against the accused.
Separately, one Liaqat Ali, son of Manzoor Hussain, was killed and two others received serious injuries in a road mishap.
In another incident, two people, namely Mumtaz Hussain and his nephew Naik Muhammad, residents of Mauza Bindi Baig, received gunshot wounds in a water dispute.
One Saqlain opened fire on Mumtaz Hussain and his nephew Naik Muhammad. They were injured badly and were admitted to the DHQ Hospital. Police have registered a case.
