PESHAWAR - One Umar Bacha, resident of Bajaur Agency, along with his three blind young brothers has appealed to Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and Corps Commander Peshawar to help them return their homes and cultivatable lands evacuated by security forces some forty days ago.

The elder of the destitute family, Umar, while talking to media persons at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, said that he was the only bread earner of his family as his three younger brothers Najmud Din, Shafiullah, and Niaz Wali were blind and not able to earn.

He said that the security forces personnel in their area had evacuated their houses and fields and compelled to take shelter in makeshift tents.

“We along with our relatives living in 10 houses were warned by forces to leave the houses and fields,” Bacha said, adding that they were compelled to take shelter in the tents near Shah Zaman graveyard.

He maintained that they were not having more finances and edibles and are living in a dilapidated condition.

He also lamented that the government and concerned authorities did not extend any compensation or assistance to them. He demanded of the government to provide them financial assistance and alternate residence until the forces evacuate the houses.
