LAHORE – A junior patrolling officer of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills in the Naulakha area, police said on Thursday.

The investigators also recovered a suicide note from the hotel room. The deceased, identified as Muhammad Ramazan, arrived in Lahore from Sargodha and took a room on rent in Al-Syed Hotel situated in the Naulakha police area. The policeman was lying dead in the room when the police investigators reached the spot.

The hotel management contacted the police by phone after they recovered the man lying dead in his room. They had to break open the door because the guest did not come out several hours after he had checked in.

According to the police, the father of three wrote in his suicide note that he was disillusioned because of the rude attitude of his friends; therefore, he was going to commit suicide. The police removed the dead body to the morgue for autopsy. On Thursday afternoon, the police handed over the dead body to the deceased’s family.

TRADER COMMITS SUICIDE: In another incident, a father of six children committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills in the Gujjarpura area. The family told the police that Muhammad Akram, a trader in the Loha market in Misri Shah, got dejected because he had suffered a huge loss in his business.
