LAHORE  - PTI in a bid to get share in the Local Government system of the provincial capital has constituted an 11-member committee on Thursday for making early preparations for the Local Bodies polls.
Though, provincial government has announced no schedule or even making any plan public to hold the Local Bodies polls so far but the PTI top leadership apparently keeping in view its defeat in the provincial metropolis in the general elections 2013 at the hands of PML-N decided to make early preparations for the Local Bodies polls.
However, an old guard of the PTI told this correspondent that provincial capital committee for the early preparations of the local elections was constituted infact to identify the new groupings in the Lahore chapter leadership.
He said that leading ideological group of the PTI had succeeded in getting the Punjab Opposition Leader position with group leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed in the opposition seat.
The other major group in the City chapter politics in the command of Abdul Aleem Khan under the name of unity group fails to get any position in the Punjab Assembly as the members of his camp defeated in the general elections.
Aleem stayed away from the party politics for sometime after his group’s defeat in the general polls and even closed his grand political office at The Mall and stopped funding the central information office in Punjab.
However, he once again to test his political fate from the platform of the PTI in the Local Bodies polls assembled his group members to dent the Mehmood’s camp whenever the local elections would be held.
But Aleem still in hot waters due to the presence of Mian Aslam Iqbal who is believed to emerge as strong opponent against the unity group’s founder and according to PTI old guard that was the major reason for the so early constitution of committee to look after the local polls preparations which have not been finalised by provincial government so far.
The 11-member committee consists of Sardar Kamil Umer, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Tahir Kardar, Tariq Sana Bajwa, Sheikh Amir, Farrukh Javed Moon, Malik Azmat Khokhar, Irshad Dogar, Rasul Bhullar, Anis Ahmed Hashmi and Abdul Aleem Khan.
Alvi flays  Khursheed’s behaviour
Staff Reporter from Karachi adds: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader and MNA, Dr Arif Alvi has showed dissatisfaction over the behavior of the leader of Opposition, Khursheed Shah while taking major decisions without consulting other parties.
Alvi expressed these views while speaking to a gathering of party leadership at PTI central media cell here on Thursday.
He said, “Two nominations for NAB’s chairmanship were made without consulting PTI leadership. The decision made by Khursheed Shah on his own hints the possibility of any hidden deal amongst the PML-N and the PPP, yet again.”
He said, “Appointing the chairman NAB was a decisive matter and all parties in the National Assembly should have been taken on-board to come up with an honest, impartial and soulful recommendation for the job.”
He made clear that the PTI was not objecting the names proposed but the behaviour of Khursheed was disappointing. “PTI anticipates national interest to be considered by, both the government and the Opposition leader, while making decisions. Continuity of a fixed match, between the PML-N and the PPP, would be understood if the same conduct continues.”
