LAHORE-Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the problems of the Muslim Ummah had increased during the holy month of Ramazan due to the escalation of Israel’s attacks in Gaza killing over one hundred Palestinians within a couple of days.
Addressing Iftar parties in Gulberg and Muslim Town areas, he said that the US, and Europe had united in enmity towards Muslims whereas the Muslim world was being divided into groups and sub groups.
It was a misfortune that the Muslim rulers were indifferent and biased. Israel was committing an open aggression against Palestine and demolishing their habitations, a flagrant attack over basic human rights but the UN and the US were silent.
Liaqat baloch termed the one year performance of the government as disappointing especially because of price hike and deepening of energy crisis.
There was a flood of taxes in the budget but the rulers were unconcerned to the miseries of the masses. In such a situation, the opposition had the democratic right to protest.
He said if any harm came to the democratic set up, the responsibility would lie on the PML(N).
