Punjab Interior Minister Shuja Khanzada visited Trimu Head Works Jhang to review the arrangements for fighting floods.
He also visited Atharan Hazari and Kot Khaira protective dykes and ordered to remove all encroachments from the dykes. He said that to fight floods, the provincial government had completed all the arrangements in advance.
He directed the district administration to remain in constant touch with the Canal Department. He also ordered them to repair all protective dykes.
He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has appointed provincial ministers as co-ordinators in all the flooded districts to monitor arrangements.
On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Naseem Nawaz, Director General Punjab Disaster Management Authority Ahmed Javaid Qazi, DCO Jhang Nadir Chattha, DPO Zeshan Asghar, Chief Engineer Irrigation Riaz Rasheed, Assistant Commissioners of Jhang, all heads of Health, Livestock and other departments were also present.
