LAHORE - Balochistan Health Minister Faiz Muhammad Kakar called on Punjab Chief Minister Dr Hasan Askari at Chief Minister’s Office Wednesday.

During the meeting, various matters of mutual interest including promotion of interprovincial harmony came under discussion.

Dr Hasan Askari said: “Pakistan is a beloved country of all of us and everybody has to play role in the national development. Promotion of interprovincial harmony is need of the hour as Pakistan will be further strengthened by promoting brotherhood and cohesion between the provinces.”

He added: “People living in the province of Balochistan are our brothers and cooperation will be extended to them.” The special health of Balochistan government was also present.

Also, Faiz Muhammad Kakar called on his counterpart in Punjab Dr Jawad Sajid Khan. Both the ministers discussed setting up Quetta Institute of Cardiology with the financial assistance of Punjab.

Faiz Kakar said that 100 kanals land has been allocated for the QIC. He requested the Punjab Health Minister to provide share of funds for civil work and purchase of equipment, arrange training for doctors and nurses for the institution.

Dr Jawad Sajid Khan said that the issue would be taken up with Chief Minister Punjab. He assured preparing recommendations for fulfilling the promise to the coming provincial government.

He directed sending a team of experts from PHC to Balochistan for providing technical guidance for the establishment of similar institution there.
