The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday announced verdict in the rigging case [from NA-125 constituency] which involved Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique.

The rigging case is related to alleged rigging in NA-125 constituency during the 2013 general election.

The two-member bench of the Supreme Court's Lahore registry accepted Rafique’s appeal and annulled the decision by an election tribunal which had declared poll results in NA-125 null and void and ordered by-election in the constituency.

Earlier, in 2013, Saad Rafique had defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Hamid Khan in NA-125 during the general elections. Afterwards, PTI's Hamid Khan had then filed an application in the election tribunal leveling allegations of rigging against Saad Rafique.

Then the tribunal had ordered by-election in NA-125 and disqualified Rafique from contesting in the constituency.

Following the tribunal's verdict Rafique had approached the Supreme Court to appeal against the decision.
