RAWALPINDI - Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) treated more than 3,000 patients at its free medical camp established at the IDP camp, Shah Mansoor Camp Sawabi. In a statement issued on Thursday, the President Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Gen (Retd) Jahan Dad Khan, said that to provide comprehensive healthcare service to IDPs, Al-Shifa Trust in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society had prepared a comprehensive medical relief plan. Al-Shifa Trust and PRCS will set up free medical relief camp at the IDPs camps and this camp will continue even after their resettlement, he added. He said that in these camps, doctors would examine patients and provide them free medicines and eyeglasses. The medical team consisted of specialist doctors, including Abdullah, Gynecologist, Dr Inayat, General Physician, Dr Abdullah, Eye Specialist and Dr Rafique, Eye Specialist and Col (Retd) Tariq Usman, Haji Aslam, Camp Supervisor and Arsalan, Health Educationist with 10 others Al-Shifa Trust paramedics team. Executive Director Al-Shifa Trust Brig Rizwanullah Asghar said that this was the eighth free medical camp set up by hospital for IDPs. Al-Shifa Trust also set up free medical camps at Mardan and Nowshera, where more then 2,500 IDP patients have been treated. Gynecologist Dr Mrs Abdullah said that women came with different cases and most of them were suffering from malnutrition and lack of iron. General Physician Doctor Inayat said that most of the people were complaining of digestion problem and skin disease. Eye Specialists Dr Abdullah said that due to dust and lack of hygiene, maximum patients were found with allergies and Blepharitus. He said that almost 50 per cent of the people screened were found with allergies and other infections.
