LAHORE (Online) - Federal Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the term Punjabi Taliban is not an abuse for Punjab, adding that the federal government would start operation if the provincial government would make a formal request. Talking to the media at Lahore Airport on Friday, the minister said that Taliban have hideouts and safe heavens in Punjab however the federal government would launch an operation against them after the formal request by the provincial government. He said that the federal government would started operation against Taliban with consent of the provinces. He said that the government would act if Punjab government failed to control the situation. Kaira further said that former President Pervez Musharraf is not wanted in any case however if the courts summon him the government would bring him back in the country. The minister rejected the impression that PPP has soft corner for former President Pervez Musharraf. He said the government would arrest the murderer of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. To a question, the minister said that the PPP led government has honoured all the promises made to the people in the fiscal budget 2010-11. For the first time, the provinces will receive more than Rs 400 billion from the federation, Kaira added. He said that there is need to understand the budget. He said that Chaudhry Nisar has put himself in trouble by giving a statement against the increase in salaries of government employees up to 50 percent.
