LAHORE - Minutes before the arrival of Punjab Chief Minister, the contractual employees of University of Health Sciences (UHS) were done with their protest demonstration against the Punjab government. CM Shahbaz Sharif had to grace a programme as chief guest at the UHS on Friday. The protesters, carrying banners inscribed with anti-government slogans, held demonstration in front of the varsity for the acceptance of their demands and regularisation. They blocked the road that prompted a traffic chaos. And to clear the road for smooth traffic flow, the police resorted to baton-charge and arrested some 24 protesters while injuring one seriously. Javed was rushed to the Shaikh Zaid Hospital for treatment. A case against the arrested demonstrators has been instituted.
