4 kids among 6 dead as roofs cave in

LAHORE - At least six people including four children were killed and several wounded when the rooftops of different houses collapsed during the downpour on Tuesday evening, police and rescue workers said.
Three members of a family were buried alive when the rooftop of their house caved in the Manga Mandi area during the downpour, police said on Tuesday. The local residents launched the searched and rescue operation and pulled three children from the debris. They were rushed to a hospital, where all the three persons expired. The deceased were identified as Zeenat, 60, Kiran, 6, and Ayesha, 17. The police handed over the bodies to the family. Locals said that the house was in dilapidated condition and its rooftop collapsed during the heavy rain.  In another incident, a seven-year-old boy was killed and his four family members were wounded when the wall of their dilapidated house collapsed on them in the Kot Khawaja Saeed area in the Shadbagh police vicinity.
The local residents pulled the family members from the debris with serious injuries and shifted them to hospital, where the seven-year-old boy, identified as Mateen, was pronounced as brought dead.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old woman, identified as Nasrin Bibi, was killed when the rooftop of a house collapsed on her in the Batapur village.  Police said that the wife of Akbar was buried alive when the rooftop of his house caved in with a bang.
Three people were wounded seriously when the rooftop of another house collapsed on the Bund in the Shera Kot area. The injured were rushed to hospital in serious condition.
