Court orders FIA to submit challan against Mush

Rawalpindi- A trial court on Tuesday ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit a complete chellan on June 25 against military dictator and former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf accused in the PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto (BB) murder case.
The court also summoned City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi to appear before the court on the next date of hearing in response to a petition filed by FIA Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar seeking security on appearance in the court. Chaudhry Azhar has been contesting the BB murder case after brutal murder of Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali, the Special Public Prosecutor of FIA.
Chaudhry Azhar did not appear before the court owing to security threat.
On Tuesday, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi Number 1 Special Judge Chaudhry Habib-ur-Rehman resumed the proceeding in the BB assassination case here during which former City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Saud Aziz and former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shehzad, the two accused in the high profile case and are on bails, also present in the courtroom.
The judge ordered FIA investigators to present complete chellan against the accused former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on June 25, the next date of hearing.
The FIA investigators argued before the court that Chaudhry Azhar was asking the law enforcement agencies to provide him foolproof security till the case was decided. On this the court summoned CPO Rawalpindi to provide security to FIA Special Public Prosecutor.
Meanwhile, the ATC No 1 accepted the application of Barrister Salman Safdar, the council of General (retd) Musharraf in which he had sought exemption from appearance of his client in the case because of security reasons. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till June 25, 2013.
