Health awareness through schools

LAHORE (PR): Unilever Pakistan Limited and the Schools Education Department, Punjab have signed a Joint Declaration recognizing the need to drivehealth & hygiene awareness through school curriculum.The Declaration was signed during the inaugural Unilever Sustainability Conference 2014, which highlighted Unilever’s progress in creating a healthier Pakistan.

Over 2,000 children die every day as a result of diarrhea caused by unsafe water, poor sanitation and a lack of hygiene. These deaths are preventable and Unilever is committed towards creating a bright future by improving hygiene practices as part of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan. This Plan aims at making sustainable living commonplace through initiatives in areas of health & hygiene, enhancing livelihoods and reducing impact on environment.

Pak foreign investment policy lauded

LAHORE (PR): Pak Gulf Centaurus spokesman appreciated privilege policy of PM Mian Nawaz Sharif for foreign investment and enlighten that this policy attract foreign investment in the country while we fully adopt this policy and to curb all hindrance encounter during the investment in Pakistan. He added that this investment friendly policy will bring real development and stability in Pakistan. Centaurus spokesman said that currently foreign investment in the country curtailed and investors are direly in dilemma condition, while talking about Centaurus project he said that Pak Gulf has purchased a commercial plot with extreme higher cost from CDA through an open auction conducted by CDA and acquired world’s leading construction companies services viz W/S ATKINS (UK), CSCEC (CHINA), PORJECS (KUWAIT) AND SAFFI (TURKEY) for construction of the said project.

 He further added that this mega commercial project of Pakistan considering a landmark in Pakistan, which constructed as per international standard.

Bank of Punjab, VPL sign MoU for financing UD trucks

LAHORE (Staff Reporter): The Bank of Punjab and VPL Limited have signed an MoU to form a strategic alliance, offering customized financing solutions for the Quester range of trucks by UD Trucks for which VPL is the authorized distributor in Pakistan. The MoU was signed by Mr Naeem Ud Din Khan, President of the Bank of Punjab (BOP) & Mr Konoz Mohiuddin, Chairman of VPL Limited (VPL).

Under the terms of the MoU, BOP will offer financing facilities to VPL customers for the purchase of UD Trucks. Customers will have the options to choose to avail financing from Islamic Banking as well as conventional banking system. The two organizations will be working closely together to develop financial products that are attractive for customers while having features that are distinct from other products currently available in the industry.

Some of the expected features include financing for both trucks and trailer/ body, flexible lease periods, subsidized insurance, etc.

During the ceremony, Mr. Kausar Iqbal Malik, SEVP/Group Chief-HRM&AG, Syed Ibne Hassan, Divisional Head with Corporate Communication team, NBP CSR team including Mr. Ghulam Muhammad and media people were present at the event.
