PTI’s protest camp

LAHORE - Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed along with other leaders and party activists set up a protest camp against the prolonged power loadshedding, in front of the Punjab Assembly building on Wednesday.
The anti-loadshedding camp would continue until June 26, while the PTI would also launch protest rallies if the government failed to control unscheduled loadshedding.
It may be recalled here that the ruling party under the leadership of provincial chief executive had set up a similar camp against the loadshedding at Minar-i-Pakistan during the PPP-led coalition government. The participants of the protest camps were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the unscheduled loadshedding.
They also used hand fans to cool themselves in the camp, as the same protesting tactic was used by the PML-N during its previous government term.
Talking to media on the occasion, Mehmoodur Rasheed invited Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to join them against the loadshedding. He questioned why the provincial chief executive is shying from protesting against the loadshedding as he had done the same in the past. He said his party PTI would take to the streets if the government failed to end the unscheduled loadshedding by June 26.
