Despite sincere efforts of the government, the Right to Information act has yet to grow. While success stories have been documented, they have been overshadowed by the general inconsistencies of the Information Commission, which has failed to pro-actively respond to the demands of the general public. The process will take time, despite the fact that the act has been active for over two years in regions of Punjab and KPK. The general consensus remains that information is more useful to journalists and non-profit organisations. However, the need is to carry workshops in different districts, not only to educate masses but to facilitate the Information Commission, in improving efficiency and contribute to good governance. These workshops will equip the Commission to understand the demands of the applicants and contribute towards transparency with little excuse.
