The death of the fourth Pakistani bodybuilder, also a bronze medalist in the south Asian games brought the issue of drug abuse by the body builders under the light of the concerned authorities. Matloob Haider, a resident of Gujranwala, is the fourth bodybuilder to have died in Punjab due to excessive use of steroids over the last 17 days while Rizwan met the same fate in Gujranwala last week.
Pakistani bodybuilder Humayun Khurram, who won gold medal in the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship, passed away here in mysterious circumstances. Soon after Pakistan bodybuilding federation president Shaikh Farooq Iqbal came into action, providing condolences to the grieving families, while lamenting the use of such life threatening drugs.
