MULTAN - In a bizarre act of investigation, police officials in Multan hanged a suspect upside down in the canal in order to take a confession statement from him.

According to reports and a video shown by a private TV channel, Mahafiz Force and Punjab police officers deployed in Qutabpur Police Station hanged the suspect upside down for not recording their demanded statement.

The officers also brutally assaulted the accused and forced him to confess to the charge.

On the other hand, city police officer (CPO) Multan took notice of the incident and directed to launch action against the officers.

He also formed an inquiry committee under senior superintendent of police’s (Operations) supervision.
