ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday allowed the government to issue a notification regarding the appointment of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority chairman. The permission has been granted on a government’s request as the ECP had placed a ban on appointments and recruitments ahead of the upcoming general election. As per the apex court directives, a retired (BPS-22) officer will be appointed as the PEMRA chairman.
