FIA says no need to arrest Jahangir Tareen, his son

LAHORE   -  Ahead of the Federal and Punjab budgets, the estranged PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) and his son Ali Tareen have got the much-needed relief from the very federal agency which had instituted cases of money laundering and corporate fraud against them and was bent upon getting their custody for further investigation till the last hearing.

The FIA Deputy Director Chand Ashraf told the banking court on Friday that there was no need to arrest Jahangir Tareen and his son since no evidence had been found against them.  He further stated that investigation in cases against Jahangir Tareen and his son were underway but there was no evidence against them as yet.  The FIA representative even assured the court that in the event of any future action, the agency would inform both in advance.  Later, the JKT lawyers withdrew the bail applications after the FIA said that there was no need to arrest them.
