ISLAMABAD - Ahead of long march panic gripped the citizens, as the current political tension is greatly affecting the social and business activities in the twin cities. The markets here are presenting deserted look, as people do not like to come of their houses owing to the mobilisation of security forces in great number in the area. During interviews with TheNation, a large number of people belonging to every walk of life have held government responsible for this prevailing unpleasant situation in the country. The foreigners have also cancelled their engagements outside the Capital and prefer to stay at their residences. Furthermore, US, UK, France and other European countries directed their citizens to cancel their visits to Islamabad. They termed the situation as unpleasant for their citizens. The shopkeepers at Saddr, Raja Bazaar, Murree Road and Commercial Market are also not satisfied, saying that the ongoing development greatly affected their business. "Asif Ali Zardari is responsible for political and economic instability in the country," Zahid Khan, a property dealer in Satellite Town stated. Ziaullah Chohan, owner of Al-Noor Jewelers, said long march would be held three days later but negligence on the part of authorities concerned is deteriorating the law and order situation in the area. Gatherings at hotels and attendance in public offices of the twin cities also reduced owing to the present turmoil. A driver Imran Abbassi said that the number of commuters has also been dropped considerably and he cannot earn even fuel expenses.
