Corruption galore

The countrys institutions are teetering on the brink of collapse. Unfortunately, if they did breathe their last their corpses would create a horrific problem. What would we do with the dead bodies? We would have only two options. Either they should be mummified and preserved for the edification of the future generations or they should be incinerated and the ashes presented as a gift to the rulers. No country can survive honourably without honest institutions. But honest institutions cannot give birth to themselves. They are created by politicians. And there is a simple law of Nature that only honest politicians can create honest institutions. Corrupt politicians can create only corrupt institutions. In most of the countries of the contemporary world, corrupt politicians are ruling under corrupt institutions. One simply wonders why do corrupt politicians use corrupt institutions for running the country. Why dont they dustbin the institutions and govern absolutely despotically without the institutions? An institutionless country would be a personal empire of the rulers. The corrupt rulers can do without the corrupt institutions and yet they maintain the institutions. There is a reason for it. Under corrupt institutions the rulers can rob the countrys resources freely and blame the institutions for the robbery. Once a ruler defended himself by proclaiming: The temptation which our corrupt institutions offer are so mesmerising that they just cant be resisted. We fall victim to the temptations. We are innocent. The institutions are the real villains. The corrupt rulers worship the corrupt institutions. The institutions passionately love their worshippers. Whatever favours the worshippers beg, the institution delightedly shower on them. The corrupt institutions of a country practise two radically different moralities: one for the masses and the other for the non-masses. The institutions ruthlessly crushed the masses but serve the non-masses as their bedchamber maids. Under corrupt institutions, the babies of the poor families are born with coffins in their mouths and the babies of the rich families are born with aeroplanes in their mouths. In most of the countries, the national institutions are generally corrupt. These institutions are created by professional politicians. Normally, a professional politician is a politician who embraces politics as his lifelong mission. The mission is to use his professionalism for his own economic elevation. But this is possible only by inflicting economic degradation on the masses. Corrupt institutions can be eliminated only by eliminating selfish political professionalism. A citizen should be allowed to become a politician only on a temporary basis. Obviously, it takes time to become a crooked politician. More obviously, as a professional politician grows more and more experienced, he grows more and more dangerous for the masses. For the salvation of the masses, a new breed of politicians should be created. A citizen should be allowed to act as a politician only for a limited period of time. At the end of his tenure, he should revert to his ordinary way of life. Thus every citizen would get a chance of serving the country and corruption would be substantially reduced. The masses are miserable. The government blames the 'terrorism. It has declared that the moment the 'terrorism is over, the misery of the masses shall be over. One cant help asking: Why only the masses are being crushed on a large scale by the 'terrorism and not the non-masses? Actually, the masses have been eternally miserable and the non-masses eternally affluent. The misery of the masses is a creation of the corrupt institutions. If the 'terrorism goes but the corrupt institutions stay on, the masses will continue to be as miserable as ever. Professional politics is all gold for the professional politician. It is all dross for the masses. Here is a suggestion. Lets have an experiment. Lets temporarily suspend politics and institutions. Let the masses run the country. Lets see how they deal with the non-masses. The writer is an academic.
