LAHORE - In response to the disqualification references filed against PML-Q dissidents, the Election Commission has issued notices to nine Punjab Assembly MPAs requiring them to furnish their replies within three days, while fixing March 19 as the next hearing date. Earlier, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, parliamentary party leader of PML-Q in Punjab Assembly, had filed the references against nine party rebels who had contested on PML-Q ticket in 2008 election. Zaheer in the references plea had accused the party rebels of wilfully forming an illegal unification block and against the party policy openly meeting and siding with the PML-N leadership. He also alleged the members of unification bloc for unconstitutionally selecting their own parliamentary leader along with a request for seats on treasury benches in the provincial assembly. The nine PML-Q dissidents through the show cause notices issued by Zaheer had been asked to send their written replies within three days but they had failed to respond in the stipulated time thus necessitating the filing of the disqualification references with the Election Commission. The references were filed against Dr Tahir Ali Javed, Mian Atta Maneka, Chaudhry Arshad Jutt, Mian Tariq Mehmood, Nasim Lodhi, Saba Sadiq, Farhana Afzal, Ayesha Javed and Joyce Rufin Julius.
