Harboring deep respect for politicians and acutely conscious of internal and external challenges staring in the face of the country I am tempted to refresh the memory of our distinguished leaders with traditional wisdom. All political parties die at last of swallowing their own lies (Life of Emerson) and lets us also recall - Public office is a public trust (WC Hudson). Our politicians have great potential to rise above personal interest and to place service above self. The reality on the ground however tells a different story. It seems to me that they are living in the past but not learning from history and are skillfully duped by TV anchor persons into mutual destruction .While I am losing patience but not trust in the ability of our leaders to steer the country out of the lingering crisis. For a change I suggest more tolerance and less self-adulation as well as more listening and less talking. As the country now has to be run by politicians and no more by Generals the onus lies on the shoulders of political forces. I am also suggesting addition of some semblance of spirituality to the otherwise amoral practice of politics. After all what matters at the end of the day is the legacy which politicians bequeath to their posterity.
