AN alligator looks snappy with himself - after becoming the first in the world to get an artificial tail.

Nine-year-old Mr Stubbs could not direct his swimming after his back end was bitten off by another ’gator.

But the Herpetological Society in Phoenix, US, spent thousands of pounds on a high-tech latex and silicon tail, made with a mould from a similar sized reptile and Mr Stubbs’ stump. He’s now learning to swim properly again. In fact you could say life is alli-greater.                                 –TS
