LAHORE – Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Allama Tahirul Ashrafi has said a plan will be chalked out to promote interfaith harmony.

He expressed these views addressing a press conference at the St Anthony's Church on Monday to condemn the Badami Bagh incident.

He said the culprits of Joseph Colony onslaught must be punished to avert such incidents in future.

Addressing the media, Bishop Alexander John Malik said that Christians were not against the blasphemy laws and believed that the persons involved in blasphemy must be punished under the laws without any discrimination of religion or sect.

Earlier, a meeting was also held at the Church to evolve a strategy avoid Joseph Colony-like acts.

The meeting was chaired by National Harmony Minister Paul Bhatti and joined by Minister of State for National Harmony Akram Masih Gill, Badshahi Mosque Khateeb Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Allama Tahirul Ashrafi,Maulana Zubair Ahmad Zaheer, MPA Tahir Naveed Chaudhry, Bishop Alexander John Malik and others.
