SWABI - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister, Sardar Hussain Babak, has said that those certified teachers (CTs) who completed 10 years of regular service in the education department would be promoted to BSP-16 from BPS-15.

He was speaking at a function organised by the All CT Teachers Association (Acta) at the Government High School Swabi here on Monday. Director Elementary and Secondary Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rafiq Khattak, deputy director, Ghulam Mustafa, Acta members attended the function. A large number of teachers and ruling party leaders and workers were also present on the occasion.

Got promoted to BPS-16. The new promotion has been approved by the Education Directorate and the same has been sent to the Finance Directorate, predicting that it would be approved very soon, fulfilling another major demand of the teachers.

However, he made it clear that the newly promoted teachers would not be Gazetted officers like the two-third promoted teachers from the each cadre recently but they would enjoy all other facilities, he said. “We have played our role and met the long standing demand of the teachers,” he said.

The teacher leaders here were confident that after the Education

Directorate’s approval their community would be perusing this case in the Finance Department and they had met with the Provincial Finance Minister Provincial Minister, Muhammad Hamayun Khan.

The minister said that he had taught in a public sector educational institutions and he knew about the difficulties faced by the students and teaching community.

“We have provided a platform for the promotion of the teachers and those who are qualified and professionals have been promoted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. The positions of the teachers have been strengthened and the British introduced system has been replaced,” he said.
