Three guards killed in robbery incident

KARACHI - Three security guards of a private cash company were killed in firing by dacoits during robbery bid in Orangi Town here on Monday.
Police said about eight armed dacoits tried to snatch cash from Phoenix cash-carrying company van near Muslim Commercial Bank in Aligarh Colony, Orangi Town, within the remit of Orangi Town police station. The guards of van offered resistance over which bandits opened firing, killing one of them on spot and injured two others. The body and injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where two injured succumbed to injuries during treatment.
The dead were identified as Ghulam Muhammad 40, Amanullah 45 and Irfan 35. A dacoit was injured in the exchange of fire who was handed over to police and shifted to hospital.
Late in the evening, the dacoits raided the hospital to get free their colleague. During firing one police ASI and three constables were injured and the dacoits escaped from the scene.
