KARACHI - Law enforcers claimed to have killed three gangsters, including a nominated suspect allegedly involved in abduction-cum-killings of three boxers and two of their family members in separate encounters here on Tuesday.

Ismail, his elder brother Javed, their two cousins Shoaib and Faisal and their maternal uncle Taj Muhammad were killed by the Sheraz Comrade gang of Lyari on Tuesday. The family nominated the accused persons in the FIR.

The accused, nominated in the FIR 62/14, Nasir Baloch was gunned down by the police the same day incident occurred. Another nominated accused Nazeer was killed during an alleged police encounter at Ali Muhammad Mohallah of Lyari.

Police believed that the notorious gangster Sheraz Comrade was the mastermind behind the killings of five members of a family and several other criminal activities. Insiders said Comrade had not been seen in Lyari since his arrest news appeared in the media from Lahore, though his gangs are remain active as coalition partners of Uzair Jan Baloch.

DSP Sohail Afzal said two of the accused persons nominated in the FIR were killed and police were still going after the other accused persons. Separately, two more alleged gangsters were killed in two separate encounters with the law enforcers.

The gangsters were identified as Saddam and Faisal Baloch. The bodies were taken to Civil Hospital. DSP Murtaza Mirani said both the gangsters were associated with the Shakeel Badhshah group of Uzair Baloch. One was killed in a joint raid conducted by the police and Rangers in Kalri area and the other in Kalakot area. They were also involved in various criminal activities.

Meanwhile, at least eight suspects were apprehended during targeted raids conducted by the law enforcers from different localities, including Gulistan Colony, Daryabad, Korangi, Christian Town, Dawood Challi, Qasba Colony, Kunwari Colony and Mawach Goth areas.
