SIALKOT - The Punjab government has started a survey to prepare a feasibility report for launching seven power generation projects on different canal in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts. A total of 57 megawatts electricity is expected to be produced from these projects after their completion.

The senior Gepco officials disclosed to the newsmen here that the Punjab government had planned to establish 2 megawatts power plant at Bambaanwala Power House Daska, 20 megawatts power plant at Rasulpur Power House, 18 megawatts power plant at Sukheki Power House Hafizabad, 3.2 megawatts at Khokharaan power house and 3.4 megawatts at Chiyaanwali Power House Gujranwala.

While, work was briskly underway to establish 7.6 megawatts power generating plant at Head Marala-Sialkot with total cost of Rs3.5 billion, as this project would be completed in a stipulated period of next four years, they added.
