QUETTA - Security forces claimed to have killed at least seven militants in Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti during search operation on Wednesday.

According to Frontier Corps spokesman, the security forces conducted a search operation in the area and in exchange of fire killed seven militants involved in blowing up gas pipelines and targeting security forces.

The spokesman stated rocket launchers, improvised explosive devices, bombs, 30-kg explosives and other weapons were recovered from the possession of militants. The militants belonged to an outlawed militant group operating in the area, he said.

Earlier this year, at least 15 suspected militants were killed during an exchange of fire with FC personnel in Kharan.

Security forces have arrested more than 3000 militants linked with different militant groups in Balochistan in the aftermath of the announcement of the National Action Plan (NAP). Forces have stepped up their efforts to apprehend militants in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan to ensure peace in the province.
