LAHORE: PTI leaders have claimed that Imran Khan-backed candidates for local bodies polls’ will sweep the upcoming elections, while efforts are on to further strengthen the party in Punjab and its provincial capital ahead of the local polls.
PTI leaders Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and Aleem Khan belonging to two major groups of the party, Ideological and Unity made these claims during separate party meetings on Wednesday.
The leaders of the two warring factions within the party also claimed that PTI was united for bringing a real change in the country.
They remarked that the ruling party has virtually turned Punjab into a police-run province to suppress their opponents.
They added that political postings and promotions in the vital department of the police has made it just a tool of the rulers, which is unable to protect the life and property of the people.–Staff Reporter
