ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Wednesday expressed concern over bringing to a halt of life in Karachi once again by the MQM activists after Rangers’ raid on Nine-Zero.

PTI Central Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari regretted the killing of an unarmed MQM worker during the operation and demanded that an investigation must be made as to who did kill him as Rangers have stated that a TT pistol and not Rangers' weapon was used to end the life of the man.

Mazari made clear that PTI had been demanding all armed militias must be disbanded and political parties must disassociate themselves from militias and mafias. On PTI's initiative, disarming of all private armed groups and militias was made part of the National Action Plan against terrorism.

Mazari asked how stolen weapons especially that of Nato forces were found at Nine-Zero and why wanted men were being sheltered there. It is criminal for a political party to have prohibited Nato arms at their office.

Secondly, why were criminals against whom FIRs were registered hiding at Nine-Zero. The Supreme Court had said all parties should disband their militant wings. It is clear MQM had a militant wing and criminals were being protected.

Mazari said it was high time for all political parties and their leadership to realise that no one could be above the law. Mazari said the innocent people of Karachi were being put to test again and she hoped they would remain peaceful. PTI stands with the peaceful people of Karachi who have had their patience tested over and over by mafias and armed political groups.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi president Ali Zaidi in the aftermath of Pakistan Rangers’ raid on MQM headquarters Nine-Zero has said that Rangers had leveled very serious allegations on MQM.

He posed the following questions arising from these allegations, "Why were wanted criminals and target killers found at 90? What was Faisal Mahmood aka ‘Faisal Mota’, the convicted killer of Wali Babar doing at Nine-Zero? Why was Aamir Khan protecting them? How did stolen Nato weapons reach at MQM headquarters?"

He said that disgruntled PPP leader Zulfiqar Mirza had also raised this issue. He demanded that all target killers caught in Karachi, irrespective of their political affiliation, should be tried in military courts. He also asked that why did every second criminal activity point towards MQM as Saulat Mirza, Ajmal Pahari all belonged to MQM.
