A seminar on the International Women’s Day was conducted by a non-profit organisation. People from all walks of life attended the seminar.
Speakers talked on the role of women as leader in building a peace loving society. Peaceful society can only be established if women are engaged in spiritual warfare and made concerned to work for the defeat of existing evil of hatred and prejudices, said BETHAK Doctor Francis Jacob.
He further said that women of all races and ethnicities all over the world had fought for their freedom and the struggle was evident from women’s movements in world history. Rozina Parveen, a political worker, addressed the audience and asked them to get involved in political affairs so that they could raise their voice. The women of the society could attain their goals by the participation in the political affairs at union council level. For the purpose they would have to get themselves registered as a member in any political party of their choice.
JASHAN: Four days annual Jashan-e-Baharan will be held in Rana Shabbir Stadium (Municipal Stadium) from March 20.
In this regards, a administrative committee has been constituted and Assistant Collector Ashfaq Ahmad Ch will lead the committee while its members are :AC Abid Bhatti, EDO Agriculture Rana Munir Ahmad, DOC Skindar Bukhari, DO Labour Navid Qureshi. Tent pegging, horse and cattle show, flower show, food street, games, mini marathon, art exhibition, cycle race and industrial exhibition will be held in the festival.
