Siddiq sends legal notice to PTI leader

LAHORE - Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiq-ul-Farooq has said that he has sent a legal notice to PTI leader Brig (r) Ijaz Shah for blaming him for pre-poll rigging in NA 137 by-elections.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Wednesday. Siddiq said that Ijaz Shah blamed him that he (Siddiq) visited district Nankana and announced relief packages for locals of the constituency to influence the coming elections. Whereas Siddiq was of the view that he always moved as per log book of the board and on the date mentioned in allegations he never visited Nankana.
Talking about the posting of some controversial officers, the chairman said that they were restored on the direction of High Court not on his directions. Chairman claimed that former Chairman, Asif Hashmi, former Vice Chairman Dr Muhammad Ali and former Secretary ETPB Junaid Ahamd issued illegal orders to hand over the two kanals and 15 marlas land of ETPB to a citizen.
He said that though one Sheikh Ayub had filed a petition in court claiming that said land was his property but decision was made against him.
Siddiq said that he was showing zero tolerance against corruption in the department and he was confident that he would convert the board into to a profitable entity by June of this year.
