Gaza power plant closes for lack of fuel

The Gaza Strip's sole power plant shut down for lack of fuel, according to a senior Palestinian official, leading to blackouts across the Islamist Hamas-ruled territory. According to Palestinian officials, the power plant has been shut down because Israel has stopped supply of fuel to the power plant for the last four days. The power plant caters to 30 percent energy requirements of Gaza strip while rest of the electricity is supplied by Israel and Egypt.
