The Raghagan Small Dam in Bajuar Agency, would be constructed for irrigation land and water storage capacity.Talking to APP, General Manager, (Technical), Fata Development Authority told taht the project would be completed by December 2014.

To a question, he said the Raghagan Small Dam is about 13 kilometres East of Khar town, Bajuar Agency adding that this dam would be constructed at cost of Rs195.983 million for irrigation of around 3,500 acres land, with total water storage capacity of 1252 acre-feet, height 52 feet and length 200 feet.  To another questioh, he said the project would be completed by December 2014.

He said the Authority had identified more than 40 small dams in different tribal agencies.

Authority had initiated construction work on more than seven dams, out of which feasibility of two dams recently approved by federal government, he added.

He said the authority had set a target to irrigate more than 346000 barren lands in Federally Administered Tribal Areas, by construction of several small dams. “We had also identified more than 120 sites for construction of dam in tribal region”, Genaral Manager claimed.
