LAHORE-Meesha Shafi is set to tour the US this month across a series of much anticipated concerts, performing live in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Washington DC and Boston.
Shafi will also be joined by folk sensation Arif Lohar for these performances, as organised by Events Worldwide and Meenu Sabharwal.
Regarded as among Asia’s most multi-faceted personalities and one of the region’s most coveted artistes for her music and acting alike, Shafi’s latest television blockbuster, the epic fantasy Mor Mahal, is currently taking screens by storm in Pakistan; specifically her portrayal of her character ‘Wazir Begum’. Indeed Shafi is best known for her inimitable music style as well as groundbreaking live performances and her work at Pakistan’s biggest music platform, Coke Studio. She has starred in the Hollywood blockbuster The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mira Nair and has been critically acclaimed for her work in the Bollywood film Bhaag Milka Bhaag, which was among the highest ever grossing films the year it was released as was the Pakistani film Waar, in which she also starred. She continues to be the receipt of a diversity of awards and accolades for her music and acting alike.
