LAHORE - Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Tuesday witnessed yet another dull dreary and flat day, as the investors with their shattered confidence preferred to abstain from business activities taking any risk and remained lacklustre, which saw the volume of trade sliding down to a record low-level, while the KSE-100 index closed unchanged at 9,183.14 points. Trading throughout Tuesday session moved at snail's pace, as the alarmingly deteriorating economic situation in the country and the apathetic attitude of the rulers kept the investors confused and perplexed about the future state of business. They with their fingers crossed waited impatiently for some good news regarding the removal of 'floor' mechanism or injection of liquidity in the market but they never listen any news as the market closed with no such thing in sight. The economic mangers dependence on IMF package finalisation, failing to take some positive measures halting the meltdown of the rupee value and continuous deteriorating economic situation of the country combined with further widening gap between the export and import are the few problems which has further worsened the situation in stock market and drove the investors and brothers on the sidelines as speechless onlookers. Tuesday turnover business of benchmark index would be remembered as the KSE history's lowest volume of trade to mere 24,500 shares. Total only 08 scrips traded in the bourse in which three companies recorded gains while one sustained losses and four remained unchanged. The highest trading on Tuesday was seen in the scrip of Nimir Resin which remained unchanged closed at Rs 5.05 with volume of 10,000 shares. Gharibwal Cement which gained Monday business Re 0.27 today also gained Re 0.50 closed at 17.50 with volume of 5,000 shares. Southern Electric which gained on Monday business Re 0.12 today gained Re 0.04 closed at Rs 3.70 with volume of 4,000 shares. Tri Star Power was the sole unlucky scrip which shed its value of Re 0.21 closed at Rs 1.64 with volume of 2,500 shares. Eye Television Net was the scrip which remained unchanged closed at Rs 39.71 with volume of 1,000 shares. East West Life scrip also remained unchanged closed at Rs 7.00 with volume of 1,000 shares. Bawany Air remained unchanged closed at Rs 6.30 with volume of 500. Habib ADM Limited was the third scrip of today business which gained Re 0.67 closed at Rs 10.24 with volume of 500 shares. Meanwhile, the KSE-30 index also remained unchanged and closed at at 10,003.99 points and KMI-30 index also with no change closed at 11224.18 points. While, Lahore Stock market witnessed stability as LSE-25 index remained at the same level and closed at 2825.36 points. Total turn over however witnessed upward trend of 2,70,000 as compared to Monday volume of 8,000 shares. In all the 85 companies transacted on the day, no one could move up, while no one shed its value and rates of all other scrips remained unchanged as HAEL remained unchanged closed at Rs 5.00 with volume of 1,45,000 shares and SARC remained unchanged closed at Rs 3.10 with volume of 95,000 shares. SHTM also remained unchanged closed at Rs 1.50 with volume of 20,000 shares. While SZTM also remained unchanged closed at Rs 6.00 with volume of 9,000 shares.
