ISLAMABAD Condemning the spate of terrorist attacks on civilians, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that terrorists were targeting innocent civilians because they are incapable of confronting the military operation. Chairing the 123rd Corps Commanders Conference at GHQ on Wednesday, General Kayani termed the terrorist attacks on civilians an act of cowardice and frustration, an ISPR statement said. The Chief reaffirmed that the public could not be cowed down through such acts of terrorism, but rather the resolve of the nation strengthened further to eliminate the menace of terrorism in all its forms. COAS also paid rich tributes to all officers and soldiers who have laid down their lives in our fight against terrorism. The ISPR statement further informed that matters of operational preparedness and professional significance were also discussed and the participants expressed their satisfaction with the state of preparedness of the Army and success of operation Rah-e-Nijat.
